[1] Dr. Nicolas Roux (France)
Dr. Roux has been involved in projects related to the management of genetic resources, with emphasis on bananas and plantains (Musa spp.) for the past 38 years. As Principal Scientist, I am based in Montpellier, France since 2003, currently leading the high value crops program including research along the value chain of tropical fruits and nuts. In Austria, from 1993 to 2003, I worked as a Research Scientist at FAO/IAEA Laboratories in Vienna on cellular biology and biotechnology, including mutation breeding techniques. In Venezuela from 1988 to 1993, I managed a tropical fruits plantation and an industrial tissue culture laboratory. I obtained my PhD at the Palacky University, Olomouc in Czech Republic and my MSc at the Haute Ecole Charlemagne, Gembloux, Belgium.
[2] Dr. Zora Singh (Australia)
Prof Singh is a multi-award-winning horticultural scientist with over three decades of impact in research, innovation, industry and capacity building in tropical horticulture. He is an elected Fellow of the World Academy of Sciences, the American Society for Horticultural Science, the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and the Indian Academy of Horticultural Sciences. His expertise spans production systems, postharvest biology, fruit quality, and supply chain management of tropical fruits. He secured more than $6 million in competitive funding and supervised 36 PhD, 16 MSc, and 2 MPhil students. Working collaboratively across academia, government, and industry, and has delivered technologies adopted commercially.
