[1] Dr. Patricia Paiva (Brazil)

Prof. Dr. Patricia Duarte de Oliveira Paiva is a full Professor at the Federal University of Lavras, Brazil. Both her Master’s and Doctoral theses focused on ornamental plant and, with these skills, she teaches courses and performs research in floriculture, ornamental plants and landscaping for undergraduate and graduate students. She became a member of the International Society for Horticultural Science in 2008 and has served as country representative for Brazil on the Council of ISHS since 2013. She has served as Convener and invited speaker of one ISHS international symposium and several non-ISHS congresses and symposia. In 2018, Dr. Paiva was elected an ISHS Board member representing the South America region. In 2022, she was elected for a second term on ISHS Board, now as Vice-President focusing on the Young Minds program.
