Vegetable Nutrition and Fertilization

About this Working Group

The Working Group Vegetable Nutrition and Fertilization focuses on topics related to plant nutrition, fertilization and irrigation; exploitation of vegetable biodiversity and new crops; resilient genotypes and cultivars; crop rotation, intercropping and cover crops; soil-plant-microbiome interactions and soil health; biostimulants and natural compounds; organic farming systems and techniques; protected cultivation systems; strategies for sustainable control of biotic and abiotic stresses; and product quality of vegetable crops.

The Working Group’s main goal is to promote and maintain an active network among research teams to strengthen relationships and enhance the resilience, efficiency, and sustainability of vegetable crop nutrition and fertilization.

Additionally, the Working Group actively organizes open days, workshops, and forums to discuss scientific issues related to innovations in the sector of vegetable crop nutrition and fertilization.

A specific task of the Working Group is to organize international symposia to bring together the scientific community and individuals involved in the Working Group topics. The symposia aim to share experiences, scientific and technical knowledge, foster innovation, and develop new technologies.
