Abstract
Pakchoi (Brassica campestirs ssp. chinensis Makino) acts as an important greens in our daily life especially in China for its rich nutrition.
However, more and more problems have occurred in the traditional production systems of pakchoi such as the unbalance between supply and demand, the manpower shortage.
So we try to explore production techniques of a mini pakchoi factory based on some specially designed experiments to build a pakchoi production chain.
We have breakthroughs in two aspects including facilities which focus on use efficiency of energy and resources and production technology which needs to form production technology systems to meet well with Chinas national conditions.
We selected optimum cultivars in winter time, explored suitable tray apertures and cultivated density in trays cultivation, searched for suitable dosage of fertilizer and irrigation system type.
We found the cultivars Huawang and Aikangqing showed comprehensive superiorities in special winter time.
We also cleared when trays are 200 apertures and cultivated density is 2 grain, the ratio of economic output to substrate cost is the maximization.
Fertilizer A2 was superior to A1 and tidal irrigation was the best irrigation system out of 3 popular irrigation types.
Our results can set a good example for producers to build a pakchoi production chain which can gradually become a clean, safe and efficient mini pakchoi factory production system based on further research and practices.
