Abstract

INTRODUCTION
Trees are an important and very valuable component of our urban landscapes.
In a civic sense, they:

Help reduce air temperatures
Reduce electricity consumption (which in turn reduces the use of coal and demands on water)
Sequester carbon
Prolong the life of asphalt
Improve the amenity value of our streets
Help reduce storm-water runoff and much more.
