Abstract
An investigation was undertaken to test Bio-Safe and carbendazim for extending the shelf life of Alphonso mangoes by delaying the initiation of decay.
All Bio-Safe and carbendazim treated fruits registering benefit for the shelf life by 2 to 3 days as compared to the control at ambient temperature and 4 to 6 days at cold storage.
The physiological weight loss was more in control as compared to Bio-Safe and carbendazim treated fruits at ambient and cold storage conditions.
The chemical analysis such as TSS, acidity, ascorbic acid at ripe stage is better in Bio-Safe treated fruits as compared to the control.
The organoleptic evaluation of Alphonso mango fruits at ambient and cold storage condition indicated that Bio-safe (4 mL L 1) treatment was superior over control and better than other treated fruits.
