Abstract
Radial ovary growth on aerial peanut (Arachis hypogaea L) gynophores was induced by a 14 day growth chamber (26°C, 90% RH, 12 hr. photoperiod, 500 Einsteins m-2sec-1) sequential application of BA (25 ppm), CEPA (50 ppm), Ca++ and B+ to gynophore tips.
Response was enhanced by darkness.
The regulation of the fructification process in the peanut is discussed.
The prospects of aerial fruit development in this geocarpic crop species are examined.
