Abstract
For two years the leaf area and the stomata number were measured for the cultivars: Cafona, Pellecchiella, San Castrese, Reale d’Imola.

For each cultivar 250 leaves were used.

Before the statistical analysis, the data were tested for homogeneity of variance and normality: for the number of stomata a transformation to x was used.

The results, confirmed for both years, show:

  • no difference for stomata number only between S. Castrese and Pellecchiella;

  • difference for leaf area of Reale d’Imola in comparison with S. Castrese and Pellecchiella.
