Abstract
In Germany, there is some interest in cultivating the wild growing lingonberry commercially because there is a great demand of the processing industry.
Today, most of these fruits are imported from several countries in the eastern and northern Europe where plenty of wild growing berries are gathered in the forests.

In view of this large demand research work on how to cultivate the lingonberries began for the first time about 10 years ago.
Until today, there is very little information available about their nutrient requirements.
This report deals with two sand-culture experiments.
