Abstract
The post harvest situation of the potato crop in Africa is analysed.
Growing seasons and storage periods are shown for different climatic zones, as well as statistics on production and utilization.
Recent and anticipated future developments in storage and utilization are described.
Based on these developments research areas that are in need of further support are discussed.
