Abstract
One hundred and fifty (150) apricot varieties were inoculated by graft transmission (chip budding) with apricot chlorotic leaf roll in order to know their susceptibility and their possible use in a selection and improvement procedure.
In a first step the results show that:
- There is a great variability between varieties in symptomatology and behaviour.
- There exist varieties much more susceptible than those usually cultivated in France.
Some of them may have interest as indicators. - A few cultivars have not shown any symptom after their inoculation in June 1986 and may be at least tolerant to apricot chlorotic leaf roll disease.
