Abstract
Commercially available pressure transducers and funnels with sintered glass filters were combined for the continuous measurement of water potential in glasshouse peat substrates.
Pressures ranging from -1.0 to -20.0 kPa were recorded every two minutes and automatically stored in a computer as the means of 10 min. periods.
The present system reacts very rapidly to changes in water potential and can be used for about one month without maintenance or calibration.
