Abstract
CheckMatetm CM controlled release dispensers containing codlemone, the sex pheromone of the codling moth, Cydia pomonella, have been tested for field efficacy under an Experimental Use Permit during the 1992 and 1993 pear seasons.
The dispensers are designed to release pheromone for at least 60 calendar days under both spring and summer temperature conditions.
Results of extensive field aging studies are being incorporated into a degree day (heat unit) model of pheromone release as a function of daily high and low temperatures within individual orchards.
