COMPOST SPECIFICATIONS

In Belgium incoming material, the composting process and the end product are monitored.
These three quality controls ensure that the final composts are of a very high quality.
A quality label is awarded to factories which meet the specifications.
Belgian compost specifications are compared to those of The Netherlands and Germany.
From this comparison there are different specifications in different countries.
Through the EEC workgroups we should derive a EEC directive which is the same for all countries.
Currently several countries export to other countries resulting in a lot of problems because of different country specifications.
