Abstract
Nutrient utilization, yield, must and wine quality of four perspective varieties Cserszegi füszeres, White Riesling, Red traminer and K-15 were studied (on the basis of their frost tolerance and wine quality) in high cordon and head training systems on light sandy soil.
Nutrient element (N, P, K, Ca, Mg) concentration of leaf blades, yield, sugar, titratable acid content and pH of the must and K, Ca, Mg and Na concentration of wine are compared in the 1992–1994 period.
K concentration of leaf decreased significantly from flowering to ripening in high cordon accompanied with an increased Ca and Mg level.
This tendency appeared in the concentration of these cations in the wines as well.
Yield was significantly larger in high cordon as a consequence of the larger loading.
Must sugar content and pH was higher in head training than in high cordon, titratable acidity values showed an inverse tendency.
