Abstract
During the past years the computer has been increasingly used in the different areas of the applied research.
The advantage in using computers is that complicated and extensive arithmetic problems are solved in a short period of time.
The number of technical personnel is reduced when schematic calculations such as analyses of variance or correlation – and regression calculations are done by the computer instead of by hand.
Or – and this will be the normal situation – the number of calculations can be markedly increased using the same number of personnel.

The accuracy of those calculations will increase as there are no personal mistakes in using a computer.
