Pomegranate and Minor Mediterranean Fruits

About this Working Group

The Working Group Pomegranate and Minor Mediterranean Fruits operates under Division Temperate Tree Fruits. The Working Group was formed to address aspects related to breeding and plant improvement, pre-harvest management, postharvest management and logistics, agro-processing, markets and economics, climate change and sustainability, and health benefits of pomegranate and minor Mediterranean fruits. Although the Working Group will maintain the emphasis on pomegranate fruit, research and development on other health-promoting minor Mediterranean crops are also of high interest. At symposia organized within the Working Group, in addition to sharing their latest research, delegates are encouraged to collaborate on multidisciplinary and multi-national projects that will contribute to knowledge and advance the pomegranate and minor Mediterranean fruits industries. In addition, there is a particular interest in increasing the participation of young and emerging scientists, to energize the Working Group and promote skills’ transfer and knowledge exchange. We welcome membership from academics, researchers, extension agents, and researchers in pre- and postharvest operations, exports and imports and non-governmental agencies.
