Abstract
After analyzing the general developing trend of the world flower industry at present, the author concentrates specifically on the Liaoning lily (Lilium) flower industry, with particular focus on the status of the lily industry in the whole country; the production and trade of lily cut flowers; the production and trade of lily bulbs; and lilies (Lilium) native to Liaoning province.
There are many advantages for Liaoning to realize the sustainable development of the lily flower industry as demonstrated in this report, such as the richness in germplasm resources, low labour costs, favorable climate, and abundant governmental investment in agriculture.
In summary, Liaoning province, as the biggest bulbous-flower breeding and propagation production base in China, plays a significant role in national flower industry.
