Abstract
Researches were carried out in two locations of Emilia-Romagna region on ‘Golden Delicious’ orchards to test the thinning efficacy of Brevis® as related to different concentrations applied in a single or double application performed at two different times of application after the fruit set.
The thinning effect of the concentration of Brevis® applied at the 1st and the 2nd application were considered as related to climatic conditions affecting the carbon balance at the moment of the application, determined with the MaluSim model, and to the stress caused by Brevis® determining the fluorescence value reached after the application with a Fluorpen device.
The thinning efficacy induced by Brevis® was directly related to the increasing concentration and to the double application with the highest concentration.
