Abstract
Development of a slow release herbicide technique for controlling weeds in container grown plants is reported.
The article discusses the rationale for developing slow-release herbicides, the concept, and a review of eight years of research efforts.
Discussion related to the formulation procedures, weed control efficacy, environmental consideration, and limitations are presented.
A prospective of extending this concept for developing other slow release pesticide formulations and its overall affect on labor management and environment is presented.
