ASPHYXIATION AND METHODS OF DECREASING ITS EFFECTS IN FRUIT PLANTS
The major danger of injuries caused by asphyxiation refers to some tissues being killed on the tree stem, particularly in its part just at the surface level.
These injuries lead to the disturbance of processes taking place in the whole plant, they weaken its vitality, and even cause its death.
My report presented at the I International Symposium in Poznan (Burdasov, 1978) showed results referring to the sequence of six major anomalous divergencies in the physiology of overwintering tissues occurring with asphyxiation.
The present report presents the continuation of studies carried out in the years 1967–1980 according to previously presented method (Burdasov, 1978).
The aim of these studies was to investigate the mechanisms of the injuries in asphyxiation, and methods of prevention.
