Abstract
By the introductory information about results of experiments concerning the storage of carrots we hope to get from you hints and ideas in which way to go on with our work.

In 1968 the Federal Republic of Germany produced about 190, 000 ts on an area of about 6, 000 ha.
Further 50, 000 ts were imported.
A great part of these carrots were turned in manufactories into foodstuffs rich in vitamins or for diet purposes.
The manufacturing industry is interested in a continual supply during the whole year.
Therefore there are large store rooms near the area of cultivation.
The existing methods of storage sometimes lead to a loss in raw material as well as contents.
To be able to reduce these facts we have for a year been occupying ourselves with the storage of carrots in a modified atmosphere.
We add experiments of quality-grading contents which in future may possibly allow a payment according to inner quality.
