Abstract
Dynamics of appearance of the carrot rust fly, Psila rosae Fabr. /Diptera: Psilidae/ on carrot plants in Poland.
Emergence of the first flies from hibernating pupae depended on the soil temperature.
Emergence of adults occurred when the mean temperature of the soil at a depth of 5 cm ranged from 11 to 14 °C for 10 days.
The most intensive migration of the spring generation to the carrot plantations occurred during the third decade of May or during the first decade of June.
Appearance of flies of the summer generation on carrot plantations began at the end of July or during the first days of August.
When 2 flies per one the Moericke dish were caught during 3 days/ = economic level of injury/, the chemical treatment was applied.
