Abstract
Results of a comparison of the rootstocks M26, M9, and M27 budded with ‘Spartan’ and ‘Summerred’ are described.
Yield, growth and tree efficiency data are shown.
Relative vigour between the three rootstocks roughly confirm data in the literature.
After nine years the highest yields were obtained on M26, although the cropping efficiency is higher for M9 and M27 budded with ‘Summerred’. Under the soil, climatic and scion vigour conditions for this trial M26 is superior to M9 and M27.
