Abstract
The results of two trials are reported.
In the first trial, the possibility to protract Iris flowering from January to April by means of different growing environments (tunnels, greenhouses and open fields) and using differents kinds of bulbs ("normal", "earlier", "later") was investigated.
In the second trial, 7–8 cm bulbs of normal and earlier "White Van Viet", produced in Holland and in Southern Italy, were grown under tunnel, in greenhouses and in the open fields.

Results show that earlier flowering was obtained from bulbs produced in Southern Italy.
