Abstract
Apple varieties and selections used in the apple breeding programme are tested for resistance to Erwinia amylovora following shoot tip inoculation in the greenhouse.
The results allow to classify these selections, to discard the most susceptible and to plan crosses involving resistant parents.
Study of progenies confirm that resistance in quantitatively controlled.
Some promising hybrids are both scab and fire blight resistant.
Choice of inoculum and strategy used are discussed.
