Abstract
The effect of different light qualities on plant growth has been studied by means of a fluid-roof system with different coloured solutions.
Removing most of the far red (FR) light gave reduced shoot length and compact plants compared to the control.
Reducing the blue light component of the daylight caused shoot elongation.
At same time as the morphogenesis of the plants can be controlled by the light quality the fluid-roof system can control the temperature without ventilation of the greenhouse.

Removing the twilight at sunset gave no or only small effects on the growth of tomato and chrysanthemum.
