EFFORTS TO PREVENT ERWINIA AMYLOVORA FROM ENTERING CROATIA

In order to assess the conditions for infections with E. amylovora in our most important pear and apple orchards we use Billing’s spring system.
The maximum and minimum daily temperatures and rainfall were recorded during the last two years at three orchards.
Results show that at one orchard (Orlovaca) the risk of infection was low while at Porec it was low one year and moderate the other.
In the Neretva river area the risk was moderate both years.
