Abstract
A model for sigmoid growth, consisting of distinct exponential, linear and saturation phases, was developed.
The resulting model represents an improvement over the Richards function.
An example for stem elongation of poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima Klotz.) demonstrated this, as an extended linear phase and gradual slope immediately after planting were tracked more accurately.
