Abstract
Experiments were conducted to evaluate the potential of quick nitrogen tests to assess N status of bean and sweet corn crops.
The test was shown effective on either sap or soil extracts.
On sweet corn, quick nitrogen test results were related to N fertilization rate at an earlier stage than those performed on soil extracts.
There were no effects of N rate on sweet corn yield.
However, post-harvest nitrate levels in soil were related to N fertilization.
