STANDARDIZATION OF DESIGNS AND EQUIPMENT

Abstract
The time interval between research and application is usually a long one.
The use of a wide variety of different types of equipment ensures that this time interval is longer than is necessary.
Standardization of equipment could be helpful in this direction, and could also lead to cost reductions plus initial rapid and efficient equipment installations.

The widening of the E.E.C. could be an opportunity to standardize on a much wider basis than merely within any one national boundary.
It is felt that research, experimental and advisory personnel should debate and then lead in this issue if they are convinced of its merits.
