Abstract
After bringing into working order a technic for cultivating immature seeds, it has been possible to undertake a programme for a genetical improvement of the plum tree from the variety ‘Ruth Gerstetter’. This variety was breeded with others among the most known.
The seeds obtained by these crosses were submitted to the embryoculture technic.
The per cent germination rates were largely variable according to the cross involved, making conspicuous the influence of the pollinating variety, on the germinating power of the seeds.
The plants issued after acclimatization in a greenhouse were transplanted outdoors for selection.
