Abstract
Chlormequat inhibited growth of vigorously growing seedlings to a greater extent than less vigorous seedlings.
The effect of chlormequat on growth and auxin content of the seedlings was not so persistent as that of maleic hydrazide.
Maleic hydrazide inhibition of myrobalan understocks persisted several years and this inhibition resulted in reduced growth of apricot scions grafted on the understocks.
