Abstract
The inheritance of three major anthocyanidins, pelargonidin (Pg), cyanidin (Cy) and delphinidin (Dp), was studied in Eustoma flowers.
A clear phenetic segregation in the F2-population was observed with the presence of alleles for anthocyanidins synthase, which appeared basically with Mendelian ratios.
Based on these observations and Chi-square analysis, multiple alleles are proposed in the B-ring hydroxylation system, with at least four alleles responsible for the flavonoid 3′- and/or 3′,5′-hydroxylase.
The genotypes are presented as HT, HF, HD and HO in Eustoma flowers, controlling 3′-; 5′-; 3′,5′-; and 3′- and 3′,5′-hydroxylation, respectively.
