Abstract
The efficient control of Alternaria is an important component in the production of carrots.
Reducing the number of spray applications by monitoring or by using a weather based model could provide a valuable decision support system.
Control of root splitting by means of soil based nematicides did not provide any consistent benefits, but nematicides are important for the control of root knot nematode, so will continue to be used.
