Abstract
Performance of ‘Zsa Zsa’ lily was evaluated in a closed soilless culture in response to urea concentration (296, 456, 616 or 776 mgL-1) in the nutrient solution.
Stem height, shoot and root weight, and peduncle length decreased with increasing urea up to 616 mgL-1, then leveled off.
Urea above 296 mgL-1 reduced flower bud count by one bud.
Bud length and weight decreased as urea increased.
Tissue N, P, Na, Cl, Mg, Mn, Cu, and Mo were not affected.
The highest tissue K was recorded for 296 mgL-1 urea.
Application of 296 or 456 mgL-1 urea increased tissue Ca and reduced Fe and Zn.
The supply solution N and NH4+ were lower for 296 or 456 mgL-1 urea.
Increasing urea increased EC and K. The highest Na was recorded for 616 or 776 mgL-1 urea and the highest Ca for 776 mgL-1.
