Abstract
The growing demand for high-quality turfgrass including lawns, golf courses, and athletic fields has prompted turfgrass managers to rely on conventional insecticides to prevent or alleviate insect damage.
This coupled with the public and legislative scrutiny of pesticides has forced turfgrass managers to adopt and implement alternative, non-pesticide technologies and management approaches.
This paper will provide a comprehensive overview of current integrated pest management approaches and strategies, including biological, cultural and chemical control as well as plant resistance, that are available for the control of important turfgrass insect pests.
