INTEGRATED PEST AND DISEASE MANAGEMENT IN GREENHOUSE DIANTHUS CARYOPHYLLUS L. PRODUCTION

With the extension of the carnation crop there have been multiply the dangers that threat these crops, such as diseases and pests.
Though many research focused on the prevention methods of carnation degeneration caused by viruses (Harris and Maramorosch, 1980), or on breeding resistant varieties, the problem of the controlling other frequent diseases remain unsolved.
In addition to diseases, there is a complex of pests which in the absence of the control measure, can produce damages that affect the yield and quality.
The diseases and pests that require prevention and control measures, has been identified in the carnation crop from the greenhouses of the “Green Spot” section, Nicolae Romanescu Park, Craiova, Romania.
Considering the economical damage in carnation caused by these pests and diseases, we think thorough studies on these pests and diseases and method for their prevention is necessary.
During the experiment years rooted cuttings planted at the beginning of June with 20 cm spacing between rows.
A sensitive variety Dona was used to asses the effects of integrated pest and disease management methods.
In order to obtain complete results for integrated management recommendations, biological efficiency of some fungicides and insecticides was tested.
