Abstract
One of the most important factors in drip irrigation design is to study the water movement from a point source on 3 dimensions in the soil.
Based on this factor the most suitable dripper discharge and distance on lateral pipe can be chosen.
This study has been conducted in 1974.

It was found that the form of water distribution under the trickles depends on the following factors:

  1. Soil texture

  2. Soil structure

  3. Soluble salts in the soil and irrigation water

  4. Discharge of dripper and irrigation duration

  5. Slope of irrigation area
