Abstract
Experiments were undertaken to study heat treatment and meristem culture for freeing strawberry plants from strawberry mottle, strawberry crinkle and strawberry latent A viruses.

When meristems were cut from heat treated plants more young strawberry plants were obtained and more of them were virus-free than when meristems were cut from non heated plants.
The adaptation of the cultured strawberry plants to normal growing conditions was very simple.
Transplantation of the young plantlets was 95–100% successful.
