Abstract
The aim of this work is to study the biological behavior of white cochineal ParlatoriablanchardiTarg. on three cultivars of date palm (‘Deglet Nour’,‘Degla Baida’ and ‘Ghars’) in the region of Biskra.
Comparison of parameters; numbers of living, population dynamics, fecundity, size of young females and mortality revealed that the mealybug grows best on the cultivars ‘Ghars’ and ‘Deglet Nour’.On the cultivar ‘Degla Baida’, which has a low numbers of living individuals, a lower fecundity, smaller size of young females and a high mortality of populations were observed.
