Abstract
One of the fundamental problem, which is not solved in our plum production, is the question about selection of the most favourable base for Pozegaca plum.
The basis examination for the plum can’t be imagined without surrounding the Prunus cerasifera Ehrh., as most frequently and most important base for all sorts of plums.
The research work of sutohotic materials offers certainty to get positive results.
So there are the selection of different kinds of the Pr.cerasifera types in the native population of Bosnia and the research work of their morphological and physiological characteristics, the base for further systematic work to a final issue in the problems about the Pozegaca plum.
In addition to this, the research work of domestic material has a pomologic-systematic and cultural-historic importance, as a supplement of more universal research work to the flora in the determined territory.

The goal of this work is to research the spreading of the Pr.cerasifera in the Bosnian district, afterwards to select various types in the native population, to research their most important biological characteristics, to have the authority to present its polymorphnity in the Bosnian district.
At the same time, these researches and selected material will help for further research and selection of the best types of Pr.cerasifera as a base for the plum.
