Abstract
In consideration of economic significance of Pozegaca prune cultivar (Yugoslavian prune, Madzarka, Ungarian pune), investigations were carried out (1965–1967) to study influence of 18 different rootstocks on yields, fruit size and quality of fruits Pozegaca.

This investigation is important for Yugoslavia’s plums and prune growing, since practically all production ot the plums and prune belong to the orchards planted by suckers.
Used to and now also, for plum and prune suckers believed that they give early and regularily bearing, large fruits and good quality as well as resistance to low temperature.
For Pr. cerasifera var.
Myrobolan Lois (= var.divaricata Ledeb) as rootstock for Pozegaca it was believed and assertion that Pozegaca on them, later going into bearing, irregularly bearing, have small fruits, poor quality and more sensitive to winter and spring frost.
Except suckers and not many seedings of Pr.
Myrobolan, other rootstocks has not used not only in production neither in experimental work.

The suckers of plum and prune, besides of the some biological merits, further should not take into consideration as plant trees.
Because of tue using suckers plant trees has no possibility to use new clone and virus free plant material and always exist dangerous to distribution of an extremely bad virus disease called "sarka" (Prunus virus 7 or Plum pox). With regard to the mentioned, this investigation are of great importance, since will be possibility to choose the favourable rootstocks for Pozegaca prune cultivar.

On the solution of the rootstocks for plums and prunes or only for Pozegaca cultivar, in Yugoslavia have worked few authors (1,7,8,16,18,19,20,21,22,23,15) but also in other countries (10,9,12,4,14).
