COLLECTING PYRUS GERMPLASM IN EASTERN EUROPE AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE TO THE USDA PEAR BREEDING PROGRAM

During the period 1976–80, several Pyrus germplasm collecting trips were made to the Balkan countries, primarily to Yugoslavia and Romania.
This is the first report listing the domestic varieties from these two countries with their degree of natural blight infection as recorded in America.
