Abstract
Wild species of tomato Lycopers icon pimpinellifolium (Pl 79532) which is reported to have resistance to tomato yellow leaf curl (TYLC) virus was used as male parent in crosses with two commercially grown tomato cultivars; Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. ev. super marmande and perso.
Parents, F1 and F2 plants were evaluated under plastic houses and open field conditions after artificial inculation.
Nature of resistance, vegetative growth characters, yield quality and quanity results will be discussed.
