Abstract
Postproduction longevity evaluations of flowering potted plants are important as consideration is given to development and introduction of new crops for the commercial floriculture industry.
Work has been conducted in the United States, The Netherlands, Denmark, and Norway to demonstrate the effect of production techniques, shipping temperature and duration, ethylene and interior environmental conditions on the longevity of a few new crops.
An overview of the postproduction longevity research which has been conducted on new crops is presented.
