Abstract
Systems and the design methods developed to use off peak electrical energy for greenhouse and plant propagation bench heating are described.
Energy is stored by heating water to temperatures up to 85°C in insulated water tanks with capacities up to 30,000 litres.
The electrical energy used for heating is supplied at low cost on a restricted hours tariff during daily periods of low demand on the electricity supply system.
