Abstract
The Planted Earth Commercial Greenhouse was completed and put into operation in December of 1985. During that winter a variety of annual and perennial plants were successfully grown for the spring market without any auxiliary heating.
The 6000 square foot greenhouse was specifically designed to minimize auxiliary energy using an active internal solar collection and storage system housed in tight, well insulated mass.
