Abstract
In the Netherlands GIVEG approval requirements for hot-air guns fired with natural gas or propane have been in force as from March 1989. Hot-air guns suitable for use in horticulture (space heating and/or CO2 enrichment) are in a special category.
For this category extra stringent requirements have been set regarding the permissible concentrations of carbon monoxide, ethene, nitrogen oxide and nitrogen dioxide in the flue gases, because of the harmful effects of these substances on crops and/or people.
