Abstract
In summer, ventilation of greenhouses in the mediterranean aeras is a very important matter.

To avoid high temperature during the day growers must look for very simple an cheap aeration systems.

This paper summerises experiments on 3 static ventilation systems in a plastic tunnel :

  • a length wise top openning system,

  • a traditional opening system by taking films apart,

  • a length wise top opening system associated with 2 sides opening at the bottom of the tunnel.

The efficiency of each system (ventilation rate) is measured by a method using gas tracer.

Vegetation is simulated by plastic windbreaks.

Results shows there is an optimal total aera opening, and vegetation decreases the ventilation rate up to 50 %.
